Your local electrician in Hartlepool

Down on the Teesside coast, Hartlepool keeps us busy from the Headland and the Marina out to Seaton Carew, Hart, Elwick and the Fens. The mix of old terraces and newer builds means plenty of rewires, fuse box upgrades and car chargers.

You get a local electrician who answers the phone and arrives when promised. Every job is tested, certified and left spotless, whatever the size.

Hartlepool is down the coast from our base in South Shields. It is part of our regular patch.

Old town, terraces and new edges

Hartlepool has two old hearts. The Headland is the old town, founded in the 600s. West Hartlepool, which holds today's town centre, was laid out from 1835.

Much of the housing is small terraced homes built before 1919. A council case study found that nearly one in six homes is privately rented. Over half of those are in three central wards.

Seaton Carew has stucco houses from the 1700s and 1800s on the seafront and The Green. It has been a conservation area since 1969. The council lists eight conservation areas in all, including the Headland, Stranton and Grange.

The town keeps growing at the edges. The same case study says about 326 new homes a year have been built since 2015, mostly on the edge of town. Work matters here too. The power station, the port and offshore wind firms all keep the town busy.

What we get called out for in Hartlepool

Rewires in old terraces

Pre-1919 terraces often have wiring added bit by bit. We test it first and give you a clear plan.

Landlord safety checks

Rented homes need an electrical check at least every five years. We test, report in plain English and fix what fails.

Seafront homes at Seaton Carew

Old stucco houses on the seafront need careful work. We plan cable routes with you and keep changes neat inside and out.

Chargers for new homes

New estates on the edge of town often want a charger on the drive. We check the supply, fit it and certify it.

What we do in Hartlepool

Electrician in Hartlepool, questions answered

How much does a rewire cost in Hartlepool?

It depends on the size of the house, how many circuits you want and how easy it is to get under the floors. We look first and give you one fixed price in writing.

Is there landlord licensing in Hartlepool?

A shared home with 5 or more people needs a mandatory HMO licence. The council has run selective licensing in parts of town in the past. Check its website for the current rules. We can supply the electrical report a licence asks for.

Do you work in the conservation areas?

Yes. If your home is listed, check with Hartlepool Borough Council about consent first. We keep cable runs hidden and fittings small.

Do you cover Seaton Carew and the Headland?

Yes. We cover the whole town, from the Headland to Seaton Carew and out to Hart, Elwick and Wynyard.
